Otford Church by Samuel Palmer

A captivating autumnal landscape painting of the Kent countryside. In the distance is a cream facade of Otford church peeking through the trees. Fauna rest under the shelter of a tree to the left. Painted in watercolour by artist Samuel Palmer (1805 – 1881) who was a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and honorary fellow of the Society of Painter-Etchers. A landscape painter, printmaker, etcher and writer. He studied under William Blake and created romanticised pastoral landscape paintings of British scenery across the country.
